Corridor of Fame QB Joe Montana, spouse reduce attempted kidnapping of grandchild

Sept. 27 (UPI) — Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Montana and his wife, Jennifer, stopped a household intruder from kidnapping their 9-thirty day period-aged grandchild more than the weekend, regulation enforcement officials said Sunday.

Montana informed the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office that his grandchild was asleep in a playpen in the vicinity of the living place Saturday when an unidentified lady entered their Malibu household and grabbed the baby. The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback and his spouse confronted the lady — whom authorities recognized as Sodsai Dalzell — and experimented with to de-escalate the predicament.

Police mentioned a tussle ensued and Jennifer Montana managed to pry the youngster out of Dalzell’s arms. The girl then fled to a nearby home, the place she was found and arrested by deputies.

The 39-12 months-old Dalzell was booked into a Lynwood detention facility and is struggling with kidnapping and burglary prices. She is getting held on $150,000 bail, in accordance to county inmate information.

The grandchild was not damage and no other accidents were documented, officials stated.

“Thank you to all people who has reached out,” the ex-NFL quarterback wrote Sunday on Twitter. “Scary condition, but grateful that every person is carrying out well. We recognize respect for our privacy at this time.”

Joe Montana, 64, performed 13 many years of his 15-yr career with the 49ers. He received 4 Super Bowls with the franchise and retired immediately after the 1994 campaign.
